Mark Hansen started selling real estate with CENTURY 21 in 1978. He has been a successful agent and a positive team player in the CENTURY 21 System ever since.
Mark has been licensed for a total of 42 years and has focused primarily on the selling of businesses and their respective properties in the Red Deer and surrounding area. In 2016, he achieved his 17th CENTURION award for outstanding production.
Mark started his career in 1975 at the age of 18. In 1977-78 he became a partner in Century 21 Red Deer Realty. Mark quickly became active in building the business and increased his partnership role within the firm. He was active in the CENTURY 21 System from the get-go. Mark was the broker council representative for Alberta early on and in those years, that meant he would travel to attend Century 21 Canada Board meetings helping to shape the foundation and direction of the brand locally.
When you ask Mark about his involvement, he usually keeps those cards close to his chest. “I’m not one for the spotlight”, he will tell you he prefers to just work and help those around him. Mark has been instrumental in organizing and planning Easter Seals fundraising golf tournaments and helping with regional sales meetings and awards banquets. He also sat on the Red Deer Canadian Mental Health Board. Mark has always actively used the tools available to the system members and is proud to represent CENTURY 21 at all events he attends.
In 1991 his brokerage merged with what is now known as Century 21 Advantage. Mark was a lead team player in establishing the commercial branch of this office “Advantage Commercial”. His focus has also shifted from residential to primarily a commercial focus. Later on, Mark narrowed his specialty to focus on the selling of businesses only. Employing the same prospecting methods, he learned early on with Century 21 to become a top producer and well-known resource for the sale of private businesses.
Mark works with one of his two sons and mentors him to carry on the legacy he has created. When he’s not working Mark now spends leisure time with his three children (2 sons and a daughter) and his 4 grandchildren (3 granddaughters and 1 grandson).
